The Paseo del Ocaso residence is a new two story, single-family residence in La Jolla Shores, California. The residence comprises of two levels and basement spanning 3,670 square feet with a 613 square foot garage. The project goal is to exemplify the implementation of the most advanced sustainable products, systems, and principles, and a desire to investigate as well as push the development of ecological consideration and innovation in contemporary architectural design.
In addition, the project aims to surpass current Title 24 requirements, produce enough electricity to self sustain from the main grid, provide hot water through a solar collection system, collect and harvest rainwater, implement grey-water reuse for irrigation and incorporate sustainable materials such as permeable pavement and a roof garden for stormwater management.
