TDE was commissioned by NBBJ Architects to provide mechanical, electrical, plumbing, telecom, BIM and sustainable engineering design services for the new Integrated Science Center (ISC) located at the University of San Francisco. The project consists of constructing a new Science Center that will house advanced “wet” teaching laboratories for biology, chemistry, and environmental science, as well as physics, computational teaching laboratories for computer science and mathematics. The new Center will be designed as a flexible learning space that can adapt to future changes in science and technology.
The Integrated Science Center includes three above grade floors, a penthouse/observatory and two full basement levels spanning approximately 65,000 gross square feet of space. The new Center will be located between the existing Harney Science Center and University Center buildings. The existing Harney Science Center will be modified to provide two openings to achieve connectivity between the second and third floor of the existing and new Center. The Center will be designed to achieve LEED Gold certification.
